Interested in employment opportunities with Ebenezer Christian Children’s Home? We are currently seeking to fill house parent, social worker, and Attic positions, especially as we are growing in two new locations! We currently have residential group homes in North Wilkesboro and Siler City, and are in the process of building homes in Hudson and Old Fort, NC.   • Social Worker- Works with children and foster families. It is paramount that this person have a positive, strengths-based approach and a sound understanding of social work theory, skills, and interventions. This position requires an ability to work intensively with serious cases, provide in-depth assessments of client strengths, needs, developing goals, plans to reach those goals, and encouraging support to achieve them. This position requires interventions aimed at crisis, supportive, and behavioral nature. Social workers must work in partnership with other agencies- school, Department of Social Services, Guardian Ad Litem, birth and foster families, healthcare, counselors, and other professionals. There is some limited work with biological families during visitation contacts.

  • House Parent- Must be able to relate positively with children and provide a loving home-like atmosphere by teaching youth social skills, self-care, and independent living skills. House parents need to have a working knowledge of behavior modification techniques and how to deal with a child who is experiencing loss and trauma history. Communication is essential, as well as the ability to handle crisis situations in a professional and calm manner. Responsible for medication administration and record keeping. Ability to perform basic housekeeping, assist in laundry duties, and meal preparation required. Supervise children, volunteers, host visiting groups, provide transportation for children, and be a role model for children. Must read, understand, and adhere to Ebenezer policies.

  • Ebenezer Attic- Employees must have a NC drivers license, social skills to interact with donors and customers, ability to ascertain what each customer wants and make recommendations. Understand polices regarding payment and exchanges, ability to perform financial transactions with the register, basic math skills, and record keeping. Ability to separate clothes and go through donations, ticket, arrange and display/rotate merchandise. Clean and tidy the store. Arrange and complete donation pick-ups in a timely manner. Represent the Ebenezer mission with Christian dress, behavior, courtesy, and appreciation.
